Where do we sleep? Accommodation

Nestled in Matemwe, on the coast North-east of Zanzibar, just 700 metres from the sublime beach of Muyuni, our lodge offers direct access to the sea and a breathtaking view of the'Mnemba atoll and sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean. This haven of tranquillity stands out by blending harmoniously into its surroundings, far from the hotels:

The lodge offers 23 bedrooms distributed in bungalows built on two levels, The hotel has two bedrooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor, each nestled in lush vegetation and facing the sea. These rooms are available in different categories, including:

  • 15 Sunshine suites,
  • 4 "Blue Waves" suites,
  • 2 Blue Breeze suites,
  • and 2 Panorama suites.

Each room has a queen-size double bed" equipped with a mosquito net (with the option of adding an extra bed), a fan, a safe, a wardrobe, and a large balcony or veranda to make the most of the view.

As a'ecolodge, We have chosen not to use air conditioning. Instead, the orientation and design of the rooms have been meticulously planned to take advantage of the natural ocean breeze, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The lodge's restaurant and bar offer a variety of menus featuring fresh produce, refreshing cocktails and convivial areas where you can relax with a good book or game.

The establishment also has three swimming pools, one of which is located close to the diving centre and is specially dedicated to training courses. You'll also find a number of areas equipped with hammocks for a moment of relaxation, or for reading in the shade of a parasol.

The beach can be reached in 15 minutes on foot at low tide or in 10 minutes by bike. Guests benefit from free internet access, a tour desk and a variety of activities such as bicycle hire, kite-surfing, deep-sea fishing...

Our diving centre is ideally located within the lodge, offering half-day diving experiences that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Outings generally start between 07:30 and 09:00 and finish between 13:30 and 14:30. You will board"dhows"traditional wooden chalets, designed to accommodate up to 12 divers. These boats are equipped with first aid equipment and are equipped with a sun canopy for your comfort.

The diving centre is made up of passionate professionals, including monitors and experienced guides, who will give you a warm welcome. The centre is well-equipped, with a classroom, an pool for PADI courses at all levels, You'll also have access to a number of other facilities, including storage space, toilets and showers. You will also be able to hire high-quality Scubapro equipment.

When you're out and about explore the sites of Mnemba, recognised as the most beautiful in Zanzibar, as well as North-east coast sites, famous for their superb corals and tropical fish. The Mnemba sites are full of marine life, These include tropical fish, turtles, dolphins, nudibranchs and a variety of hard and soft corals. You'll discover drop-offs, gently sloping reefs and lively coral patties, all generally at a depth of around 20 metres.

For those who prefer the macro-fauna, an outing can be organised to Shanes Reef, near Nungwi. This site is renowned for its a profusion of fascinating little creatures, such as leaf fish, toad fish, nudibranchs and even seahorses.

The diving centre also welcomes non-divers on board the boats so that they can admire, from the surface, the fauna and flora of Mnemba. Non-divers will have the chance to be guided in the water by an expert, and it's not unusual to spot dolphins on these exciting snorkelling trips!
